We're proud to be part of the EFG London Jazz Festival, with two incredible special guests, and we hope a third.

Makam Salam is a London collective of Pan-Middle Eastern diaspora musicians: Palestinian, Israeli, Iranian, Lebanese, Turkish, Kurdish, Tunisian, Moroccan, British and Jewish. Maqam modes meet jazz improvisation. Arabic, Hebrew, Turkish and Kurdish songs sit side by side, carried on oud, clarinet, violin, keys, drums and percussion.

Mira Awad

Palestinian-Israeli singer, songwriter and actor from the Galilee village of Rameh. In 2009 she sang at Eurovision with Achinoam Nini, in the first entry with Arabic lyrics. She has performed with Bobby McFerrin, Andrea Bocelli and Quincy Jones, and appeared at Sanremo in 2025.

Olcay Bayır

London-based Kurdish Alevi singer-songwriter, born in Gaziantep into a family of wandering minstrel poets. Trained in opera, she sings the songs of Anatolia in Kurdish, Turkish, Armenian and Greek. Her album Neva was nominated at the Songlines Music Awards, and she has played WOMAD and BBC 6 Music.

The Jerusalem Youth Chorus*

Palestinian and Jewish Israeli singers from Jerusalem who sing, and listen, together. We hope members of their alumni ensemble can join us on stage for the first time.

* Still waiting on visas for some of the Palestinian singers. That this is uncertain is one more reminder of why this work matters to us.

Why the round

The round is the format this music was built for. Audience on every side, the band facing inward, and you invited to be part of the show.

Since 2024 we've sold out Stone Nest, PizzaExpress Jazz Club, Next Door Records and The Cockpit, and played Shambala and Soul Revolution this year.

Where the money goes

Proceeds from the show go back into our not-for-profit work. They'll help us record our first album, and grow the band's mission and reach. Choose a Supporter ticket if you'd like to give a little more.
